*Attention High School Seniors*

North Rockland Youth Cheer is proud to award the Doretta Puryear Memorial Scholarship to a graduating senior.
All applicants must plan to attend a junior college, college, or university and meet the criteria specified for the scholarship.
The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has:
Participated in our Pop Warner program as an athlete for at least two years
Participated in their high school cheerleading program for at least two years
 AND Volunteered as a trainer in our Pop Warner program for at least two years.

Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play.

We believe that the standards we have set give these children a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life.

Like such organizations as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Federation of High Schools (NFHS), PWLS has academic guidelines and criteria that need to be met in order for a child to participate.

In addition, for those that excel academically, PWLS offers many types of scholarships and academic recognition at the local, Regional and National level for those in the 5th grade and up.
